Contractor Workforce Development Committee
This committee addresses
the concerns of industry to develop an affordable, available skilled workforce.
Primary efforts have focused on the development of contractors who perform work
in construction and maintenance.
Craft
Training
GBRIA members have sponsored the
ABC Craft Training School since 1984.
Members donate an hourly surcharge on contracts, which is used to fund over $1
million each year of the
school's budget. Contractors also donate their time and materials to make the

Survey
Results
The Contractor Workforce
Development committee oversees two major surveys that are conducted several
times per
year, the
GBRIA
labor
demand forecast and the wage survey. Beginning in 2007, GBRIA joined
its forecast with other
similar organizations across the Gulf Coast to produce the
Gulf Coast labor demand
forecast.
